Low school speed limits delay 'endangering children' - Irish Independent

Interesting article in today's independent. Obviously some political point scoring going on as the holiday season draws to a close. All that been said the report points out that Ireland has the worst child pedestrian deaths in Europe.

True story: A child attending Whitecross believed that the school, which has 20,000 cars passing by every day, was so called because of the white line in the playground which it was forbidden to cross. The line is there to keep children far away from the perimeter and the heavy traffic passing yards from the playground.
