Anti Litter League - Cleanup Julianstown

Meath Co Council's Anti Litter League commenced this week (Mon 6 Feb) and will run over the coming 8 weeks. Volunteers in high visibility tabards are currently out on the roads in Julianstown picking up litter. On our first morning we filled 12 black sacks! Even the most cursory glance as you pass through the village reveals a dreadful problem - the casual dumping of bottles, cans, cigarette packets and butts, chewing gum...the list goes on. The ditches tell a gruesome story - more bottles, discarded clothes, hub caps, pieces of carpet, redundant signage...
Please spare a thought for our environment; think before you drop it and take it to the nearest bin instead.
And if you think you could spare an hour, we would welcome your help in our efforts.

Meet at Julianstown School 9.00AM Mondays (also (900AM Wed/Thursday)
All equipment will be provided, tel. 087 2866757.
Thanks!
